Press Release Body = Leavenworth, WA - On a bitterly cold winter day in Eastern
Europe, young orphaned teenage girls are gathered around a single hotplate in a
dingy, cramped dormitory room. They are bundled in all the clothes they own. Those
that have them are wearing winter coats. They are hoping that the heat generated
from the hotplate and their bodies will be enough for them to sleep warm tonight in
this unheated building. They can never return to the orphanage, the only home many
have ever known. In another room, an orphan girl lies crying on a bed. Her tears
come from more than just physical pain. Not only does she have a fever, a bad tooth
infection, and no money for the hospital, she has nowhere to turn, having no one in
the world to help her.

These are real events witnessed and detailed by Steve Cassidy, President and founder
of Orphan's Hope, a not-for-profit organization based in Leavenworth, Washington,
dedicated to helping orphans in poverty rise above their dire situations.

Each day, an estimated 140 million orphaned children around the world are struggling
to survive in conditions we would consider reprehensible. Most of these children
don't own enough to fill a small overnight bag. They are malnourished, have little
to no education, lack good hygiene, and face survival rates that have many dying
before they reach their twenties. Numerous governments, already struggling
financially, lack the ability to care for orphans. Many orphanages release children
at the age of 15, leaving them to survive on their own. In post-communist
countries, statistics reveal that over 60% of teens turn to crime or prostitution to
survive, because they have no real life skills, education, hope or outside help.

Orphan's Hope is giving such orphans the opportunity for a real future. Transition
homes and mentoring programs are designed to teach orphans basic life and business
skills, giving them "a vision and resources for a future with hope," according to
Cassidy. "BOSSdev (St. Clair Shores, MI) is a key supporter."

"Watching a fifteen-year-old learn to use a fork and knife, because he was never
given a knife in the orphanage, is amazing," continues Cassidy. "Many orphans lack
such basic skills when leaving the orphanages. But giving them the tools to prepare
for high school and university, teaching them to shop and cook, how to set goals and
plan for the future, a future they would not have otherwise experienced.that's truly
rewarding. Every [contribution] that BOSSdev gives is significant and transforms
lives."
